    • September 15
      The Society of St. Vincent de Paul Friends of the Poor Walk will take place on Saturday, September 30 from 8am until 12 Noon on the St. Genevieve Church Grounds and Parish Hall. St. Vincent de Paul members are available at all church entrances to take registrations for the Walk and T-shirt orders after all masses.       Hurricane Harvey evacuees will be returning to their homes to recover and rebuild and will need information to help them. There has been a migration of evacuees from Texas coming into Louisiana seeking refuge and assistance. Many of these families are showing up at partner agencies and churches seeking assistance.       The Archdiocese of New Orleans, Office of Black Catholic Ministries' Gospel Music Festival will be held on Saturday, Sept 23rd at 6pm at the Historic Carver Theater, 2101 Orleans Ave, NOLA 70116. Admission is free, monetary donations and non-perishable food items for Second Harvest Food Bank.

      The Ladies’ Kaycee’s will sponsor a Baby Bottle Fundraiser. The baby bottles will be distributed the weekend of September 30 & October 1 and will be picked up the weekend of October 14 & 15. Fill the bottles as much as possible with your spare change or make a donation to the Crisis Pregnancy Help Center.

      Respect for Life: since 1973, over 60 million innocent children have died from legal abortion in the United States. Please join hundreds of pro-lifers as we gather for the 26th annual Slidell Life Chain on Sunday, October 1, 2017at 2:00 pm. St. Genevieve’s standing location is on Gause Blvd. between 8th and 9th Street. Signs will be passed out. For more information please contact Michelle Gorney.

      Save the date for the Celebration of the 175th Anniversary of the Holy Family Nun’s foundress, Mother Henriette Delille. At the 11:00 mass on Oct. 22nd, there will be a presentation and reception in the hall following. Please spread the word and join us for this blessed event.

      The St. Genevieve 2017-2018 Religion classes will begin on Sunday Sept 24th, 2017, at 10:30am. Classes will continue to be held at the St. Genevieve Education center on Bayou Liberty road. Both new and returning students can find the registration forms along with the class schedule, available for download here on the St. Genevieve website. The PSR class scheduled is also available on the St. Genevieve calendar. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact Ona New, PSR Director or the parish office.
