The Dean is a priest, appointed by the (Arch)Bishop, with certain authority over the common pastoral activities of a specific area of the Archdiocese. Among his responsibilities are to meet regularly with the (Arch)Bishop; convene regular meetings of priests within the Deanery; visit each parish in the Deanery; and mediate in the first instance for bishop in Deanery matters requiring conciliation in priest-priest and priest-lay concerns.
