Announcements for Saturday & Sunday, October 5 & 6, 2024 The Twenty-Seventh Sunday in Ordinary Time
1. October is Respect Life Month throughout our Country. St. Tammany Right to Life will hold its annual Life Chains October 6 at 2pm in Slidell all along Gause Blvd and in Covington on Hwy 21. As you know Louisiana is Abortion Free except for the illegal abortion pills but many states allow abortion until the time of birth. Laws are changing all the time-notably Florida will have an initiative on their ballot this fall to allow abortions. We must continue to PRAY for an end to abortion and show our support for Life. Please join thousands of other Pro-Lifers throughout the country in silent, prayerful Life Chains. For more information please see the flyer on the bulletin board or call our Pro-Life ministry listed on our bulletin.
2. The Family Life Ministry has scheduled our annual Halloween Trunk or Treat Thanksgiving Food Drive for Friday, October 25th from 5:00 to 7:00pm. It will be held on the Church grounds between the Family Life Center and the Bayou. We are asking for donations of Halloween candy and treats for the children. Boxes will be placed at all entrances to the church for your donations. Please see the flyer in this week's bulletin.
3. If you are looking for something to do with the time God has given you and want to give back to the needy right in your own community, our St. Vincent de Paul members invite you to come to a special meeting on this Tuesday, October 8, 2024 at noon at the Henriette Delille Center meeting room. Spend an hour in fellowship and learn a little more about what it means to be a Vinventian. Meet the members who are now serving and what personal gratification they experience in service to our neighbors in need and the impact it is making on the lives of these families. Please call Joyce Lawrence at 504-251-3445 and let her know that you will be there.
