Announcements for Saturday & Sunday, December 2 & 3, 2023 First Sunday of Advent
1. Fr. Jerry invites you to join him on a Pilgrimage to France May 6-17, 2024. The Very Best Shrines of France Pilgrimage Tour visits some of the most important churches, basilicas, and religious monuments in France. This tour also includes a visit to the Shrine and relics of St. Genevieve in Paris. You may pick up a flyer at any entrance to the church or call the parish office for more information.
2. Once again, our wonderful parish family and friends of St. Genevieve have out done themselves in love and generosity for their Church Home. A special thank you to our blessed parishioners for their generous donations to our beautiful new Nativity scene which now adorns our church for the Advent and Christmas season.
3. The Helping Hands Gift Shop is open every weekend after 9am and 11am mass. We have new items and Christmas items. For every sale until Christmas, you will receive a free gift. Don't forget, as always, we have free books, prayer cards and prayer booklets.
3. The Ladies Altar Society is having their annual Basket Raffle again this year. For only $1.00 per ticket, you have a chance to win one of three baskets. Tailgating, WIne & Spirit, or Cookout.Tickets are on sale this weekend in the main entrance to the church after all masses.
4. All are welcome! Please join us for our annual Trimming the Tree Family Life Ministry event Dec. 2nd immediately following 4pm Mass in the Family Life Center. This special event includes caroling, the blessing of our new Holy Family Nativity, Christmas crafts, a fellowship meal and a visit from ole St. Nick. A sure night of fun for the entire family so mark your calendars and bring and/ or friend.
5.Fr. Jerry will offer a Scripture Series based on the Sunday Mass readings of the Advent season. The sessions will be held in the Family Life Center on Friday mornings from 9:00am to 10:00am. The series will begin on Friday, December 1st and end on December 22nd.
6. Youth Ministry invites youth all ages to Advent Youth Group, for all ages on Saturdays, December 9th and 16th, 12:00-1:30 at the Henriette Delille Center Conference Room to prepare families for Christmas. Join us for reflection, food, fun and fellowship. Parents are welcome.
7. St. Vincent de Paul is accepting monetary donations and donations of food items for the 2023 Christmas Baskets project. Collection boxes for the food items are placed at all entrances of the church starting this weekend. Applications will be accepted at the St. Vincent de Paul office on Monday, Dec. 4 and Dec. 11 from 9:00am until 11:00am only at the Henriette Delille Center.
8. Friday, December 8th is the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. This is a Holy Day of Obligation. Vigil mass will be Thursday, December 7th at 7:00pm and Friday, December 8th at 8am and 7pm.
9. Last day for Poinsettia Memorial will be Wednesday, December 20th at 12 noon.
10. Sign-up sheets are in the main entrance of the church for all who would like to light the Advent Candle which begins December 3rd.
